The Evolution of a Painting


For better or worse I decided to document the evolution of this painting. It is the first piece started in my newly remodeled studio. At its inception, I was really excited about getting back to work. I had a clear vision for this painting. As time moved on, and life interrupted, I have struggled a bit to keep my connection to the initial vision for this piece. I feel it is close to resolution, but not quite there yet. Natick resident opens new art gallery

Diane Sullivan will greet visitors Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. at the opening of her new venture, California Muse Gallery & Studio, in the historic David Morse House in south Natick.
A former high school art teacher and painter, the Natick resident will be showing and selling paintings, photographs and prints by area artists. Sullivan will also be using her gallery space which she described as "like a little jewel box'' as a teaching studio for painting and drawing classes."It's always been my dream to own my own gallery and studio,'' she said.
